Do you have questions before joining a Yoga Anatomy course?

I am not only a doctor of physical therapy and yoga teacher. I was the program director of the Physical Therapist Assistant program at San Jacinto College in Houston, Tx for five years. In addition to teaching Functional Anatomy and Therapeutic Exercise, I revised the curriculum of each course in the program to meet accreditation standards. In that process, I developed a thorough understanding of curriculum design and effective education. Every detail of this course is created with the intent to be clear and practical. I also learned so many ways to keep students engaged. In other words, the course is crafted to perfection AND you will have fun while learning how to apply yoga anatomy and alignment to your practice and teaching.

Yes! Many students do this training to take their practice to the next level. Anatomy is the essence of the practice. A better understanding of how the body works is essential to better understand your own practice. I have led this training to many yoga teachers in training and they often say “I wish I had this training when I first started yoga.”

By intelligently aligning your physical body throughout your yoga practice you create new possibilities on your mat:
- Improve your posture and balance.
- Gain strength and flexibility.
- Increase your breathing capacity.
- Improve your respiratory and cardiovascular health.
- Improve your performance in sports and daily activities

The course can be completed on your computer or tablet with the Zoom app downloaded. You can also use your phone though a larger screen may be best.
You will need yoga mat and yoga block.
A yoga towel and strap may be useful too.

Upon full participation in the course, you will receive a certificate that verifies your participation and provides you with continuing education hours that qualify for Yoga Alliance Anatomy & Physiology standards.
