What Moves You?
My name is Dr. Trish Corley, and I'm thrilled you've found your way here! If you're looking for yoga anatomy that actually makes sense; the kind that transforms how you practice and teach, you've come to the right place. What started as my passion for helping people understand their bodies has led me somewhere even more profound, and I want to share that journey with you and invite you to a new space for our community of yoga teachers to thrive.
A Message to The Yoga Anatomy School Community
First, if you're part of the incredible Yoga Anatomy School community that has grown so beautifully over the years, thank you! The Yoga Anatomy School isn't going anywhere. It will continue to thrive with online courses, my teacher mentorship, and in-person yoga teacher trainings programs.
"What Moves You?" is the evolution of my work. It's a space where my latest, most expansive content will live. While Yoga Anatomy School remains your home for comprehensive yoga anatomy training, this new community is where we'll explore the fuller spectrum of what our yoga practice offers.
I thought it best to use this first blog post to share what "What Moves You?" is really about and invite you on this journey.
What You Can Expect: The Yoga Anatomy Expertise You Know
Let me be clear. You're going to get the yoga anatomy, alignment insights, and cueing techniques you expect from me. After twenty-two years as a doctor of physical therapy and thirteen years teaching yoga globally, I know how to bridge that gap between complex body science and practical yoga wisdom.
You'll learn why your hamstrings feel tight in forward folds and what to actually do about it.
You'll discover cueing that makes backbends accessible instead of scary. You'll understand the "why" behind every alignment cue so you can teach with true confidence instead of just repeating what you've heard.
This is what I'm known for, and it's what I'll keep delivering. Here's what's been moving me lately...
What Moves Me to Keep Teaching Yoga Anatomy
Ready to dive deeper? Subscribe to "What Moves You? The Anatomy, Wisdom, & Power of Yoga" and get weekly insights that will transform how you understand your body and practice yoga.
“I used to think I taught anatomy because people needed to understand their bodies. That's true, though it's not the whole truth..”
What actually moves me is the moment when someone accesses a posture they never thought possible; not through force or flexibility but through understanding. It's watching a student's face light up when a simple cue about their shoulder blades suddenly makes arm balances feel effortless. It's seeing a teacher realize that the hip anatomy I just explained allows them to empower their students to feel their own bodies.
Then something beautiful happens. That student who just accessed their first crow? They walk taller. They speak up in meetings. They set boundaries they've never set before.
That teacher who finally understands how to cue safely for different body types? They stop second-guessing themselves in class. Their confidence becomes contagious. Their students trust them more, which means they trust themselves more.
This is what moves me: a single anatomical insight can shift a posture, which can shift a mood, which can shift how someone shows up in their relationships. All this creates more freedom and connection in the world.
The Path I'm Taking (And Inviting You On)
Here's what's been stirring in my heart lately: I've always had a keen interest in sharing the ways yoga empowers me to step forward as a leader, to take risks, to find joy, to connect with people, and to live the life I want. Having just led a 200 hour yoga teacher training, my heart yearns to share more about this part of yoga and teaching.
I'm studying the Yoga Sutras with fresh eyes. I'm exploring how the precision I seek in explaining spinal movement mirrors the same precision the ancient texts describe for training attention. The stability I teach for standing postures reflects the steadiness of mind the sutras point toward.
Connecting Ancient Wisdom to Modern Life
What excites me most is connecting this ancient wisdom to the modern coaching and empowerment work that has always been at the heart of my yoga teacher training programs. My own teachers were influenced by transformational leaders who understood that real change happens when we align our bodies and mindset with our hearts. The purpose of all this work is to create more freedom for us to live the lives we want.
Ancient yoga philosophy can feel confusing when we try to apply it to modern life. After all, we're not sitting in caves all day! What I'm passionate about is bridging that gap, showing how the foundational texts offer practical guidance for the transformations that actually matter to you. I've been sharing this work inside of my yoga teacher trainings, and now I'm sharing more of it inside my new community space. [And let's face it, I'm keeping the anatomy focus because I love it and am really good at it!]
"What Moves You?" is my invitation for you to join me on this path of diving deeper into yoga anatomy, cueing, sequencing, and all the yoga teacher training techniques…all with a bigger connection to my soul.
“When you know how to implement the practices of yoga in every area of your life, you will experience peace, confidence, and freedom.”
Beyond 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Yes, you'll get the yoga anatomy expertise you're looking for. You'll also get to see what moves me to keep showing up—what drives me to lead yoga teacher training programs, to mentor teachers, to create systems that help people understand their bodies and this practice more deeply.
You'll discover that understanding your psoas isn't separate from understanding your patterns of fear, and learning to engage your core isn't different from learning to trust your inner wisdom. This is yoga teacher training that goes beyond the basics, exploring how ancient wisdom connects to modern empowerment and the transformations that actually matter in your life.

I'll also share what I'm learning about connecting ancient wisdom to modern empowerment. When we understand how to align our bodies the way they're meant to be and also align our lives with our deepest values, yoga becomes truly transformative.
The Fire Burns Brighter Than Ever
There's a familiar fire burning in my heart as I launch "What Moves You?" It's the same fire that led me from physical therapy to teaching yoga anatomy to studios around the world, and then yoga teacher trainings. I'm not just asking what moves your body in yoga postures. I'm exploring what moves us to keep coming back to this practice, what moves us to share it with others, and how the smallest shift in understanding can create ripples of freedom in the world.
