Physical Therapy Wellness Screen

Do you have an injury or nagging pain? Are you tired of not being able to participate in your favorite activities? A physical therapy wellness screen consists of a series of assessments and measurements used to determine impairments that cause your pain or limitations.

Following the assessment, you will be prescribed a individualized treatment plan and appropriate recommendations. Your treatment plan may include Therapeutic Exercises; Manual Therapy Techniques; Dry Needling; Kinesiotaping; Functional/Performance Training; and other recommendations.  If deemed necessary, you may also receive a referral to another healthcare practitioner.

Postural Assessment & Treatment

The way you carry and move your body in and out of various positions throughout the day has a significant impact on your muscles and joints, your health, and ultimately the way you feel. Pain in any area of the body is often a result of sub-optimal posture.

A Postural Assessment & Treatment includes  detailed analysis of your default positioning and standardized tests and measures to determine which muscles and joints are impacting your posture.

You will be instructed in therapeutic exercises prescribed specifically for you to help you transform your posture. You will also be given my Optimal Postural Training Guide and support to improve your posture while you do the activities you love to and need to do.

Ergonomic Assessment and Corrections

Do you sit at a desk most of your day? The way your workstation is set up (and the way it is not set up) directly affects your health!

If you are suffering from joint or muscle pain, headaches, or excess fatigue, an ergonomic set up can help you feel better. This is also a great preventative measure if you are setting up a new workstation.

I will assess your workstation and help you make adjustments to meet your body's needs. This may include adjusting your furniture. If your furniture does not have adjustments, no problem! I will help you find cost effective ways to make the adaptations you need to feel comfortable at your desk. Your work is important to you. Ensure your body is best cared for while you work.

Do you have questions about Physical Therapy with Dr. Trish Corley?

No! Lousiana (and most states) is a Direct-Access State.
"A physical therapist possessing a doctorate degree or five years of licensed clinical practice experience may implement physical therapy treatment without a prescription or referral."

For more details, check out The Louisiana Board of Physical Therapy.

No. By not accepting insurance, I can keep both your costs and my costs down. This allows me to provide a full hour (or determined amount of time) in a private session. That means you get undivided attention. I have worked in private practice clinics that take insurance. In order to make the model work, the therapists work with 2-3 patients at a time. I believe the value of one to one attention far outweighs insurance benefits.

Your physical therapy needs are unique and an assessment/evaluation is needed to determine the number of sessions required to meet your goals. My goal is to minimize the number of PT session you need. I maximize my treatments and empower you to perform exercises on your own. My end goal is for you to know how to manage your wellness for your lifetime.

Most likely, yes. Laws and regulations to practice physical therapy vary by state. Contact me directly to determine if we can work together virtually for physical therapy.
