Does this sound familiar?

You get nervous when students tell you they have injuries. You're not sure what to say. Yoga helped you heal your own body and you want to help others do the same, but you're not sure how. When a student asks about their pain, the only thing you know to say is "listen to your body" — but you want to give them clearer, more confident answers.

With a little bit of training, you can show up with confidence to teach students who have injuries or pain.

Why this course exists

If you are a yoga teacher who worries about teaching students with injuries or pain, you are not alone. This is exactly why the Teach Yoga to Students With Injuries course was created — to help yoga teachers know exactly how to manage group and private yoga classes, even when students have injuries or pain.

You might already know that Trish practiced physical therapy for many years before teaching yoga. And you might be thinking — well of course she was confident teaching yoga to people with injuries. The truth is, she worried too. Managing a group of people with various injuries and complaints all at once was something she had to figure out. She also had to learn how to separate her role as a yoga teacher from her role as a physical therapist, and speak from the authority of a yoga teacher when that's what she was being paid to do.

Over 12 years of teaching yoga, Trish developed a simple and concrete system for managing students with injuries and pain. Now she's ready to teach you how to do the same.

What you can expect

Know exactly what to say to students. No more worrying when students bring up injuries or pain in class. You will have the answers.

Learn the science behind healing. Use science to confidently lead your students toward recovery. Know when and how much yoga they should do.

Have systems for managing pain and injuries. Systematically know how to help your students and when to refer them to a healthcare professional.

Confidently teach all students. Master your skills of modification for private and group classes. Trust yourself with any student.

Imagine this...

You arrive early to your yoga class to greet your students and you are excited to be there. A student comes up to you and says "I just want you to know that I am dealing with a herniated disc." You know exactly what to say. After a brief conversation the student sets up their mat and you continue to confidently teach class. After class, the same student comes up to thank you. You let them know you are available for private lessons and they ask how to get started.
